Copyright Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

V111A, Inc. (“Villa,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Villa application and website (collectively, the “Service”) to do the same. This Copyright Policy explains how to notify us of material on the Service that you believe infringes your copyright, what happens after a notice, how a user whose material was taken down can send a counter-notice, and our policy on repeat infringers. It follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (“DMCA”).

This Copyright Policy forms part of the Terms & Conditions and the End User License Agreement (EULA).

1. Designated Agent

1.1 Our designated agent to receive notifications of claimed infringement is:

V111A, Inc.
Attn: Micah Heykoop, Designated Copyright Agent
15 Brooks Ave
Venice, CA 90291
USA
Phone: 714-716-9439
Email: legal@villa.live

1.2 Only copyright notices and counter-notices should be sent to the designated agent. To report a clip for any other reason, use the Report link on the clip’s page.

2. Sending a Notice of Claimed Infringement

2.1 What a Notice Must Include. If you believe that material available through the Service infringes a copyright that you own or are authorized to act for, you may send us a written notice. To be effective, the notice must include:

2.2 How to Send a Notice. You may send a notice in any of the following ways:

2.3 Incomplete Notices. If a notice does not include every element listed in Section 2.1, we may contact you to ask for the missing information before we act on it.

3. What Happens After a Notice

3.1 Receipt. We confirm receipt of your notice by email.

3.2 Restriction. When we receive a notice that meets the requirements of Section 2.1, we act expeditiously to disable access to the material. We do this by restricting the clip: it is no longer shown on its page, in embeds, or on the user’s profile, though the user who recorded it can still watch and download it. We keep the restricted clip so that it can be restored if the user sends a valid counter-notice (Section 4).

3.3 What the User Is Told. We promptly notify the user whose clip was restricted. The notification tells the user the name of the person who sent the notice, the name of the copyright owner if the notice was sent on the owner’s behalf, the copyrighted work identified in the notice and its web address if one was given, and how to send a counter-notice. We do not share your email address, telephone number, postal address, or signature with the user.

3.4 Our Decision. We tell you by email what we decided about your notice.

4. Counter-Notices

4.1 Sending a Counter-Notice. If your clip was restricted in response to a copyright notice and you have a good faith belief that this was the result of a mistake or misidentification of the material, you may send a counter-notice. To send one, sign in to your account at villamoves.com/account, open the clip, and complete the counter-notice form. You may instead send a written counter-notice that includes everything listed in Section 4.2 to our designated agent (Section 1). You may send a counter-notice even if your account can no longer record or share clips.

4.2 What a Counter-Notice Must Include. To be effective, a counter-notice must include:

The counter-notice form asks you to make the two statements in the following words, and a written counter-notice should use the same words:

“I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.”

“I consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which my address is located, or if my address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which V111A, Inc. may be found, and I will accept service of process from the person who provided the notification of the alleged infringement or an agent of such person.”

4.3 Your Counter-Notice Is Shared. We send a copy of your entire counter-notice, including your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, and any explanation you give, to the person who sent the notice, and to each person who sent a notice about the same clip. Do not include anything in a counter-notice that you are not willing to share with them.

4.4 Receipt. We confirm receipt of your counter-notice by email and tell you the date on which the clip will be restored under Section 5.

5. Restoring Material After a Counter-Notice

5.1 After we receive a valid counter-notice, we send a copy of it to the person who sent the notice and tell them the date on which we will restore the clip, which is no earlier than ten (10) business days after we received the counter-notice.

5.2 We restore the clip not less than ten (10), nor more than fourteen (14), business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless our designated agent first receives notice from the person who sent the notice that they have filed an action seeking a court order to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity relating to the clip.

5.3 If we are told that such an action has been filed, the clip stays restricted and we tell you by email. We preserve the clip while the action is pending, even if you delete it.

5.4 When we restore a clip, we tell you and the person who sent the notice by email.

6. Repeat Infringers

6.1 Policy. It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who repeatedly infringe copyright. Under this policy, an account that reaches three (3) active strikes can no longer record or share clips (Section 6.3), and we may close the account (Section 6.4).

6.2 Strikes. Each time we restrict a clip in response to a copyright notice, the account that recorded the clip receives one (1) strike. Further notices about a clip that is already restricted do not add strikes. A strike remains active for three hundred sixty-five (365) days from the date it is given. The notification we send under Section 3.3 tells you how many active strikes your account has.

6.3 Three Active Strikes. When an account has three (3) active strikes, it can no longer record or share clips, and every share link it has is turned off. The user can still watch, download, rename, and delete their existing clips, finish uploading a clip already in progress, and send counter-notices. We tell the user by email when this happens.

6.4 Closing an Account. We may also end an account’s ability to record and share clips, or close the account entirely, where we consider it appropriate in light of repeated or serious infringement.

6.5 Removing Strikes. A strike is removed if the clip is restored after a counter-notice, or if we reinstate the clip, for example because the notice was withdrawn or sent in error. We may also remove a strike after review. When removing a strike brings an account whose clips ended under Section 6.3 below three (3) active strikes, the account can record and share clips again; share links that were turned off stay off, but the user can share their clips again. A strike that expires does not by itself restore an account’s ability to record and share clips.

6.6 Review. To ask us to review a strike or the end of clips for your account, write to legal@villa.live.

7. Misrepresentations

7.1 Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.

7.2 If you are not sure whether material infringes your copyright, or whether a use of it is permitted by law, you may wish to seek legal advice before sending a notice or counter-notice.

8. Changes to This Policy

8.1 We may update this Copyright Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
